Journey Ahead

It has been awhile since we updated you last, however now that the business of fundraising meetings and moving in Canada is at an end.  The past two months was an awesome experience with its trials and joys.  Our favourite part was watching the outpouring of love and generosity from all people not only in finances,  prayers, time, and well wishing, but in finding resources for us they knew we needed for the mission.  The donation of cloth diapers, lice combs, luggage, and small toys were items that Mandy and I were researching to buy and collect before we left.  Thanks to God, He saw that we did not have the time to do these things.  What may seem like a small act of generosity can leave a lasting impact on a person's heart.  For example, I often think of Darlin (a young girl at Casa Hogar) and how she had shown our family a love so profound that it inspired us to return to Guatemala the following year and now for an entire year.
Huewey Luis (probably butchered his name) had it right in his song "That's the power of love."  What we all need to experience more often and whole heartedly is that true love between each other.  That is what God had intended us to do.

I want to write more now but I have to go to the city and pick up my family at the airport.

Promising to keep you post more often,

Matt
